- Sepsi-78:n edeltäjä perustettiin vuonna 1930 nimellä Seinäjoen Palloseura eli SePS, mistä on johdettu nykyisen seuran nimi. Nimi jouduttiin muuttamaan, kun SePS meni konkurssiin vuonna 1977. Vuonna 2007 Sepsi-78:n edustusjoukkue yhdistyi TP-Seinäjoen kanssa Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerhoksi.
