- Suomalainen Teatteri perustettiin toukokuussa 1872. Toimittuaan Arkadia-teatterin tiloissa lähes kolmekymmentä vuotta teatteri sai oman talon, joka vihittiin käyttöön 9.4.1902. Samalla Suomalainen teatteri sai nimen Suomen Kansallisteatteri.
