- Unigrafia aloitti toimintansa vuonna 1972 Monistuspalvelun nimellä. Vuonna 1985 nimi muutettiin Yliopistopainoksi. Vuonna 2011 toiminta yhtiöitettiin ja nimeksi tuli Unigrafia Oy. Unigrafian omistavat neljä korkeakoulua, Aalto-yliopisto, Haaga-Helia ammattikorkeakoulu, Helsingin yliopisto ja Taideyliopisto.
