Description
KTO is an ontology for linguistics originally prepared for the needs of Finnish and Finno-Ugric linguistics. The ontology is based on the Thesaurus for linguistics (2003). The languages of the ontology are Finnish, Estonian, German, and English.
KTO was established in the FinnONTO project (2003–2012), led by Aalto University and the University of Helsinki in cooperation with the Institute for the Languages of Finland (Kotus) and the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK. Institute for the Languages of Finland is responsible for maintaining the content. No active development is currently being done, but the ontology is updated when necessary.
