- Karata is an Andic language of the Northeast Caucasian language family spoken in southern Dagestan, Russia by approximately 5,000 people in 1990 according to the survey of A. Kibrik and by 6,400 people in 2006 according to the survey of Koryakov. Speakers use Avar as their literary language.
