Scope note

  • A family of structurally-related proteins that were originally identified by their ability to complex with cyclin proteins (CYCLINS). They share a common domain that binds specifically to F-BOX MOTIFS. They take part in SKP CULLIN F-BOX PROTEIN LIGASES, where they can bind to a variety of F-BOX PROTEINS.

History note

  • 2004; use S-PHASE KINASE ASSOCIATED PROTEINS (NM) 1983-2003; for P19(SKP1)PROTEIN and P45(SKP) PROTEIN use S-PHASE KINASE ASSOCIATED PROTEINS (NM) 1995-2003; for P45(SKP) use UBIQUITIN-PROTEIN LIGASES (NM) 1999-2003
