Preferred term

Methylenetetrahydrofolate Dehydrogenase (NAD+)

Type

  • Topical Descriptor

Entry terms

  • 5,10 Methylenetetrahydrofolate:NAD Oxidoreductase
  • 5,10-Methylenetetrahydrofolate:NAD Oxidoreductase
  • 5,10-Methylenetetrahydrofolate-Reductase (NADH)
  • 5,10-Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase, NADH-Dependent
  • Methylenetetrahydrofolate Dehydrogenase (NAD)
  • NADH Dependent 5,10 Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase
  • NADH-Dependent 5,10-Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase
  • Oxidoreductase, 5,10-Methylenetetrahydrofolate:NAD

Note

  • do not confuse with METHYLENETETRAHYDROFOLATE DEHYDROGENASE (NADP)

Scope note

  • A NAD-dependent oxidoreductase that catalyzes the conversion of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5,10-methenyl-tetrahdyrofolate. It has been found in a variety of microorganisms.

History note

  • 2004; use METHYLENETETRAHYDROFOLATE DEHYDROGENASE (NADP) 1989-2003; for 5,10-METHYLENETETRAHYDROFOLATE-REDUCTASE (NADH) use METHYLENETETRAHYDROFOLATE DEHYDROGENASE (NAD+) (NM) 1999-2003;
