- Ett akutfasreaktionprotein som förekommer i låga halter i normalt serum, men som finns i högre halter i serum hos äldre personer och hos patienter med amyloidos. Det utgör en cirkulerande prekursor till amyloidprotein A, vilket finns lagrat i amyloid typ AA.
