- Yksinkertainen ja pelkistetty rockmusiikin alalaji, joka syntyi Yhdysvalloissa 1960-luvun puolivälissä brittiläisen rhythm & bluesin inspiroimana (The Beatles, Kinks, The Rolling Stones). Tyyli koki renessanssin 1980-luvulla. Tyypillisiä edustajia ovat olleet Music Machine, Seeds, Standells ja 13th Floor Elevators.
