- (1) 1600-luvun alkupuolen vokaalisävellystyyppi, (2) 1600-luvun loppupuolelta lähtien luonteeltaan leikillinen soitinsävellys, (3) 1700-luvulta lähtien erityisesti kvartetoissa ja laajemmissa orkesterisävellyksissä vilkas, yllätyksellinen osa tai (4) itsenäinen soitinsävellys.
