Definition
- system comprised of data and the people managing the data, data processing devices, data transfer devices, data processing programmes and data processing regulations, the purpose of which is to enhance, facilitate or enable some activity.
Note
- The concept of an information system is broad in nature, and not all of its parts are relevant for every use case. For example, when the focus is on acquisitions, information systems are usually used to refer to the part of information systems that focus on technology, i.e. hardware and software. Information systems are used to operate information resources.
