- "Boreal wetlands only cover around 3% of the global land surface area but are regarded as the largest natural methane source into the atmosphere (Archibold 1995). Relatively less research has focused on their BVOC emissions, but previous studies have shown wetlands to be high emitter of isoprene (Ekberg et al. 2009; Haapanala et al. 2006; Hellén et al. 2006; Holst et al. 2010; Janson and De Serves 1998; Seco et al. 2020). Earlier works have found isoprene emissions from boreal wetlands to be as high as monoterpene emissions from boreal needleleaf trees (Janson and De Serves 1998) and that the isoprene emissions follow the standard MEGAN isoprene temperature parameterization (Haapanala et al. 2006; Hellén et al. 2006)." lähde: Vettikkat Lejish, 2025, "Ecosystem-scale emissions of biogenic and agricultural aerosol precursors into the boreal atmosphere." s. 17 https://melinda.kansalliskirjasto.fi/byid/019328724
